I am a journalist by profession and worked for almost 20 years as a print, radio and online reporter in Germany, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States, focusing on socio-political topics. In this period, I also had the chance to temporarily take on new roles in communications and project management, becoming involved with election administration, migration policy, European Integration and diversity. 2010, I switched to working with Human Rights CSOs, focusing on anti-discrimination, where I held leading posts in public relations, organization and project management. At various levels, from local to international, I have initiated, designed and overseen many activities and programs, which brought the emergence of online harms to the table of policy makers, Human Rights bodies and platform providers themselves. In collaboration with partners from various sectors, I have been driving the development of methods and sustainable structures to identify, classify, document, analyze and counter phenomena of online hate speech. Since 2019, I also train media professionals and communicators on the topic, and contribute my expertise to CSOs, think tanks and organizations in Europe and beyond, and am an active international election observer.
